Convince Eudora to forget a saved password (12/11/07)
After you've changed your Access Account password, current (v7.1 and later) versions of Eudora, configured to remember the old password, don't present a pop-up dialog to request a new password. Instead, they simply keep trying (and failing) with the old password.- Open Eudora
- Click the Special menu keyword
- Scroll to and Click the Forget Password(s) item in the Special pulldown menu
- If you have more than one personality configured in Eudora,
- A popup dialog will present all personalities in a list, with all members of the list selected/highlighted
- Hold the Control key down and Click any personalities whose passwords you do NOT want Eudora to forget.
- Click the offered button to direct Eudora to forget the saved passwords for any remaining highlighted personalities.
- If you have only one (<Dominant>) personality configured in Eudora, Eudora will forget its saved password immediately, without any popup boxes.
- Subsequent checks of new mail for the highlighted personalities will raise a dialog box requesting the current (i.e., changed) password.
- In the dialog box requesting the current password, supply the correct value for the personality's password.
If you choose to have Eudora remember the password for later checks, you may check a selection to that effect in the current password dialog box.
